In Memory of
Raymond Eugene Jacobsen

to
September 3, 2007
We are very sad to announce that Ray passed away September 3, 2007 after a long struggle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and friends. A memorial celebration was held on
October 13, 2007.
The following is a statement that Barbara wrote about Ray's inspiration and motivation behind his artwork.
Ray's passion for his art was the driving force of his life, his very existence. Not just to paint beautiful landscapes and flowers, but to express the very essence of the forms and forces of nature in ways that would awaken people's souls, to help them see the wonders of creation. He cared so deeply for this earth – the land, the ocean, rivers, trees, flowers and rocks – never tired of finding new ways of revealing the beauty and magic of it. He was deeply curious about the microcosm and the macrocosm, from the tiniest atom to the expanse of the universe.
Ray's family is eternally grateful to all of Ray's loving friends who were such a huge help while he was ill and in his passing — bringing food, spending time with Ray, visiting with the family, bringing flowers, giving Ray healing sessions, cleaning, cooking, driving Ray to the Veteran's hospital, taking Ray out to Goat Rock Beach, all of the effort that went into making the memorial celebration a perfectly beautiful tribute and continuing to help in so many ways. We love you all!
